Chines New Year CelebrationsFebruary 1 to 24
Out goes porky pig, in comes the rat as Sydney celebrates the Chinese New Year. Sydney's Chinese New Year Celebration will feature 50 events for over three weeks, offering something to excite the mind, and promote the Chinese sense of heritage. Food, sports and culture. Performing arts, visual arts and history. What more can you ask? Sydney's Chinese New Year Festival this year could be the largest celebration of the lunar year outside of China and other Asian cities.  There is definitely something to interest anyone.

Chinese New Year in Sydney would last from 1 February - 24 February.  With a celebration this big, you could expect more than 600,000 people to crowd Sydney's streets.

The Chinese New Year Celebration was formally launched Friday, 1 February, at Belmore Park. The Chinese New Year Parade started at George and Park Streets and ended at Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbor on 10 February.

On the 16th  & 17th of  February will be the Dragon Boat Races, at Darling Harbour, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
