| Earth Hour 2008: The World Unites Against Global Warming |

Earth Hour 2008 Unite with millions of people from the world's major cities, including Copenhagen, Toronto, Chicago, Melbourne, Brisbane, Tel Aviv, and Manila and switch off the lights for an hour on March 29 at 8 p.m. and help deliver a powerful message on the need for action on global warming. Started on March 31, 2007, in Sydney, Earth Hour was a massive collective effort participated in by 2.2 million Sydney residents and 2,100 businesses. The collective effort reduced Sydney's energy consumption by 10.2 percent for one hour, which was equivalent to 48,000 cars off the road. The Sydney-wide campaign made the world take notice, so this year, Earth Hour is going global with residents from 24 cities worlwide turning off their lights on March 29.
