Sydney Royal Easter Show March 20 to April 2, 2008 The Sydney Royal Easter Show is said to be the largest annual event in Australia, attracting some 900,000 spectators. A 14-day event action-packed with entertainment, the Sydney Royal Easter Show brings together the country, city, and agricultural segments of Australia in a show that reflects the country's diverse culture and heritage. The show features some 15,000 competitors with 35,000 entries under 40 different contests covering livestock, domestic, animals, district exhibits, apiculture, poultry, arts, woodchopping, and horticulture, among many. More than an exhibition, the Sydney Royal Easter Show is also a family event. Children will enjoy the thrills offered at Australia's largest carnival, which features more than 50 games. Children will also get to see farm animals up close across the showground through the Dairy Farmers Farmyard Nursery and the Sunday Telegraph Animal Walk. There are also samples of food and wine, especially at the Woolworths Fresh Food Dome, where you can watch cooking shows and have a snack at one of the stalls and cafes on the showgrounds. You will also get to witness the Sydney Royal Rodeo riders as well as the International Woodchop Relay and the stunts of Xtreme Korruption. The Sydney Easter Show is also a good opportunity to sneak in some shopping for arts, crafts, accessories, and other stuff. Show opens on Maundy Thursday at 9:30 a.m. You can buy your tickets online and avail of a 10 percent discount. The Website also offers all-inclusive tickets that cover entry and return travel on rail, bus, and ferries.
