Literary talk with Susan Wyndham, Author and Journalist E-mail

Come and hear Susan Wyndham, Sydney Morning Herald journalist turned author, as she narrates and inspires you with the remarkable true story of Charlie Teo, “maverick” neurosurgeon, and Aaron McMillan, concert pianist. These are some great people Australians need to hear about! This is a free lunchtime talk, from 12:15 - 1:00 pm, Tuesday, 1 April 2008. The venue is at Customs House Library, Level 2 Meeting Room, 31 Alfred Street, Circular Quay.

For the information of everyone, the Customs House Library is the newest addition to the City Library Network. Here you will find some of Sydney's best venues for wining and dining, rooms for meetings and private functions. A place where premium commercial offices are located, it is also near public transport (Circular Quay trains, buses, and ferries).

This literary event is sponsored by Sydney PEN, one of 144 PEN centres found worldwide. The PEN’s purpose is to promote freedom of expression, friendship and intellectual cooperation among writers everywhere in the world, that they may truly represent the conscience of world literature anywhere, anytime. Sydney PEN sponsors public lectures and readings by writers, promotes the publication of literary anthologies, and gives national support to government literacy program generally and indigenous literacy program particularly. The PEN goes to schools and libraries, supports writers in detention or prison, lobbies on the issues of censorship and media suppression, including sedition laws.
