Sydney Italian Festival E-mail
Starts May 24  It is Sydney Italian Festival time again! What does that mean? Italian-inspired fashion design.  Lots of Italian food and wine. Italian films and music. And of course Italian sports.   Where? At venues all over the city of Sydney including the impetuous Norton Street. In a capsule, here are some of the highlights for you: Freshly made Italian gelato, delivered by the gelato cart touring Myer stores, spreading the taste of Italy through all of Sydney on Thursday, May 24, and Sunday, June 3, at Bondi Junction. Italian wine flights, consisting of three tasting glasses with matching tasting plates, and all things Italian including cocktails coming your way nightly during the festival at 2 Elizabeth Bay Road, Elizabeth Bay.
“Italy and Beyond” at Paddington Contemporary Fine Art, which will showcase the works of artists of Italian descent, such as sculpture by Diego Latella and paintings by Egidio Scardamaglia.

Italian National Day Celebrations, which will start at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 3, at the War Memorial in Hyde Park with the laying of a wreath, followed by a solemn mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral at 10:30 a.m. officiated by Cardinal George Pell.

Festivities commence at 12 noon of Sunday, June 3, at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Circular Quay (near The Rocks).
