Choosing the right Jersey E-mail
JerseysThere are certain characteristics to look out for when looking for a quality rugby jersey. The fabric should be sturdy and durable. A 300gram jersey is the ideal weight for a knitted playing jersey. This is the quality that is required for a playing strength jersey. The stripes on the jersey should match on the seams so that there is a consistent flow in design.

  • The collar should be made in a 10oz cotton drill and be securely sewn so that no amount of pulling can tear the collar away from the garment.
  • The collar should be reinforced with tape on the inside and have a stretch webbing in the placket allowing for any type of pulling and tugging.
  • A gusset should be available under the arm for extra movement in the arm hole.
  • The buttons should be made of rubber.
  • The jersey should have durable seams sewn on all areas and reinforced stitching in areas likely to be tugged at.
  • The jersey should be colourfast and should maintain it's original colour for years to come as long as proper washing instructions are adhered to.
  • The jersey should maintain it's original fit/shape.
