Maurie & Eve
was the brainchild of Kelly Davies, named after her grandparents,
Maurice and Evelyn, who were killed in a car accident in 2001. They left Kelly an old sewing machine. Inspired by their love, Kelly created her design, and named it after them.
Kelly’s early creative flair resulted to the famous 'Patch Singlet', which still sells today. Maurie & Eve now has a fast growing team with Kelly’s high school friend Maya Clemmensen joining in to keep up with the high demand.
The spirit of Maurice and Evelyn continues to live on in the fashion created by their granddaughter Kelly, displayed by fashion-savvy young ladies. It is one of the fastest growing Australian fashion labels to date and such demand has resulted to over 170 stockists around the world.
There is this collection called Daisy Blades, which exudes with the carefree, relaxed, playful hippy spirit of the ‘70s. The design utilizes crochet and athletic mesh plus a delightful retro print that features yellow and brown flowers reminding you of fabrics you must have worn as a youth. Its palette was colourfully rich-- metallic, yellow, purple, pink. Key pieces of the Daisy Blades include printed leggings, pantsuits, tunic and crochet mini dresses, with versatile separates that can be worn together for a layered look.
Maurie & Eve Platinum, on the other hand, is for one who is confident enough to have fun with colour and prints.
