Kiama: A paradise 90 minutes away from Sydney E-mail
Who would think that Kiama, with its string of dazzling beaches and spectacular sights, was just 90 minutes away from Sydney?

Yes, Sydney residents wanting to make a quick getaway to unwind, relax, and take in a breath of fresh air can drive to the coastal escarpment and surfing beaches that Kiama provides.

Kiama is the perfect holiday destination, with its relaxing seaside towns and country villages. There are plenty of accommodation options, from bed-and-breakfasts to country cottages, from cabins to apartments offering a view of the ocean.

If you're in for some fun activities, you might want to check out Kiama's Blowhole, and witness the water spout shoot up to 60 metres. You can also take walk and be one with nature at the Minnamurra Rainforest in the Budderoo National Park. Another option would be snorkelling and dibing at the Bushranger's Bay or sinking a schooner at the 150-year-old pub in Jamberoo village.

Fun for all ages is offered by the Jamberoo Action Park, with its high-speed rides and water slides, surely to be a hit among children and the kids at heart. For a romantic night, the Crooked River Winery offers great wines and a panoramic view.

For something educational, go visit the HARS Aviation Museum at Illawarra Regional Airport.
