Thailand is one of the most beautiful destinations in the world.  Apart from being attached to the Asian continent, there are thousands of small islands that also make up this country.  Few islands can boast of such an abundance of sandy beaches and clear waters as Phuket. The winding coastal roads along the west coast of this 540-square-km island offer stunning views and easy access to some of the world's finest beaches.  Apart from Phuket, there are a host of other islands that tourists can choose from.  The religion Buddhism is highly prevalent in the country and the architecture seems o speak of a time long-gone ago.  Another aspect of the culture that it is famous for is “Muay-thai” or Thai boxing, which has gained great popularity in the world.  The shopping for all those who love it is probably one of the best reasons to go there.  The prices are extremely reasonable and bargaining is a part of the entire experience.  You can get anything from clothes to shoes to local handicrafts, which make for excellent gifts and also to decorate the mantelpiece of your home.  Thailand is a rather wholesome mix of the hectic cities and the tranquility of beaches and hills.  A myriad of sights, smells and experiences awaits any who wish to try it.
